How to fix iCloud “Your storage could not be upgraded” : iPhone?


Many iPhone 13/12 Pro Max users are facing issue while upgrading their iCloud storage plan that they keep getting the message, “Your storage could not be upgraded” “iCloud storage could not be upgraded at this time. Fix : Logout and login back to iCloud


One common solution to fix iCloud “your storage could not be upgraded” is to first logout from your iCloud Account(Go to settings->tap on your photo/Apple Id -> log out of media&purchases) on iPhone and reboot the iPhone. Once the iPhone is up, log in back to your iCloud account again. Now , try again to login to your account and check if this helps. 


Fix: Add a payment method


If you are seeing “your storage could not be upgraded” while trying to change iCloud plan then this could be due to missing payment method. Try adding a credit card as payment method. Make sure that billing information is complete and up to date, credit card, address. 


Fix : Try from different Apple device


In some cases only iPhone users are facing this issue while increasing the iCloud storage and getting Your storage could not be upgraded error. If you have other device like iPad or Macbook, please try to change the plan from there and see if it works. 


Fix : Try third party option

If you are not able to upgrade iCloud from Apple device, we recommend you to please try to use third party option like iCloud for Windows to upgrade the plan.
