Rumor has it that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is being considered as a replacement for Johnny Depp in the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequel. Is Johnson really replacing Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow? With Depp’s most notable work being in this franchise; he brought out a lot to his character that fans adore so much.

A defamation case in which Johnny Depp has been accused of domestic violence is now under trial and could see the Hollywood star removed from the blockbuster film franchise. The concept that Dwayne Johnson will step in for the actor has already found favor with backers of the franchise. The idea seems like a win-win situation for all involved. Though the verdict is yet to come and things might change accordingly.

Jerry Bruckheimer says the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie may center on a female protagonist telling the story. Also, on the other hand, Joachim Rønning mentioned that Johnny Depp’s return for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is very uncertain.
