How to fix Google Speech services update stuck on downloading?

Google Speech service is a great service offered by Google which is now also available on the Cloud also. But many Andorid user are facing issue that their phone is that the phone is trying to download the language/ English (UK) update for Speech Services by Google but stuck at downloading update. Google Speech service is stuck downloading language and says “waiting for network” even when user is on strong WiFi and mobile data service.

Android users can’t seem to cancel or stop Google Speech service continuously searching or downloading and bothering users a lot.  This is annoying as the speech update by Google download got to about 80% complete but  now stuck for a day not completing.

In some cases Speech Services by Google can't find network to download. The problem is reported with all different devices like Google Pixel, Samsung, Ximoni, Verizon Network etc. Speech services by Google has been downloading for several hours/days and it seem like these are stuck somewhere. How to fix speech service by google Stuck on downloading English Update: Android/ Samsung/Xiomi/Realme/Vivo/Oneplus 

Fix : Restart  the Phone 

A normal restart can fix software glitch in the Phone and issues like unable to download the Google speech update etc. You should reboot your phone and check if this fixes the issue or not. Or to stop the Google speech update you can also force stop the process from settings.

Fix : Install from Playstore

One common fix for Google Speech service stuck on downloading is to Just search for the Speech Services by Google App in the Google Play Store. Then uninstalled it and try to reinstall. This should fix the issue for you.

Fix : Set Anytime update 

There is another solution to fix the issue which is -> Open Google app. Go to settings > voice > offline speech recognition > auto-update and choose to auto-update languages at anytime. After this the update should get installed normally. 

Fix : Set download preference to any Network

Go to Google Play Store settings by tapping the circle in the upper right with my Google profile photo in it. In that Settings menu Tap on Network Preferences. If it is set to download over wifi only, than change it to over any network, restarted the phone and google Speech service should download normally now . 

Fix : Turn off updates

Many users after trying above fix reports that the problem appears again after some time. If speech services by google won’t stop downloading and keeps popping again and again you can simply uninstall updates to the app and turn off auto updates for it. This will stop speech service by google update. 

Fix : “Auto-update languages at any time. Data charges may apply."

There is another solution to fix Google speech not download. Navigate to Settings -> Google -> Settings for Google apps -> Search, Assistant & Voice -> Offline speech recognition. From here Go to the third tab "AUTO-UPDATE"

Choose the second bullet "Auto-update languages at any time. Data charges may apply."

-Turn off Wi-Fi.

- Restart the device.
