How to fix Contacts widget not working on iPhone 13/12 Pro ?

In the recent updates of iOS 14 and iOS 15 the Apple have introduced the new widgets features for all of its iPhone models . The Widget lets you customize your iPhone home screen and gives you a lot of control. But recently many iPhone 13 Pro Max, 12,XS etc user are reporting issue that the Contact Widget is not working on the iPhone. The Widget does not load anything and stays blank.

The contact widget is not loading on the iPhone / iOS 15, which is annoying for the users as it makes it easy to call or message your favorite contacts. The contact widget was working fine earlier but suddenly stopped working and contact widget remain blank on the iPhone. After adding the contact widget the contacts are not populating on widget screen. Even the users are not able to change any of the contacts on the contact widget. Press and hold at selects edit widget and nothing happens.

Fix :Reboot the iPhone

One easy solution to fix iPhone contact widget is not working is to reboot the iPhone. This will fix any software glitch in the iPhone and many users are able to fix the issue with a normal restart. Give this a try after adding the widget to your phone.

Fix : Wait for some time

The Widget are loaded from Apple using various algorithms which may take some time. Please note after Setting  up the contact widget and leave it for a bit. It should eventually started working. Also try to tap on the widget(just tap the card so it refreshes). 

Fix : Change contact list 

The iPhone contact widget will not work if your iPhone has corrupt/faulty contact list. To fix that try to delete one of the contact and re-add it later. Now check the contact widget and everything should work normally. 

Fix : Sync contacts to iCloud

Make sure your contacts are syncing with iCloud, . To do that launch the Contacts app and try tapping Groups at the top left. You’ll see a list of all accounts that are syncing contacts.

Fix : Try third party App

If Apples default Widget is not working for you then you may try to use third party apps for creating the Contact widget like WidgetSmith app. These apps lets you create widget of your choice and lots of other customisations. 

Fix : Reset the iPhone

As a last step to fix iPhone contact widget not working, try to reset to default settings. Go to iPhone Settings-> General->Reset or transfer iPhone-> Reset all settings.
