iOS 15 iPhone Mail App keeps Asking Password: Outlook/Gmail

Many iPhone 13, iPhone 12,11,XR ,XS user are facing issue with mail app asking for Outlook password again and again too frequently. The issue started after updating the iPhone to latest iOS 15, and it seems that issue is happening with iOS 15 as this was not the case with iOS 14.

Mail apps asking for outlook password continuously iOS 15

Apple Mail app keeps asking for the password daily or more than one time in a day. Every day mail brings up a box that says "enter the password for the outlook account”  which is very annoying.   It seems the password is not being saved/updated!

How to fix Apple Mail asking password again and again : iPhone 13 Pro Max, 12,11,XS MAX,8 Plus

Fix 1 : Try to set this account as the default

There is workaround to fix Apple mail asking for outlook password continually, is to set the outlook account as default. Not sure how but Apple mail seems to remember the password by this.

Fix 2 : Reset Setting on iPhone

The password issue in iPhone is with  authentication process with the Outlook/Gmail. Deleting the accounts and re-adding them should resolve the issue as it forces a new authentication ("log-in") attempt with the accounts. In case you are using MFA (multi factor authentication), this can be little more complicated . You can also attempt to reset just the iPhone settings by going to: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings . This will reset all iPhone settings while your data will be untouched or not deleted.

Fix 3: Check for server outage

If outlook server is down for any reason, then you will probably be getting such message to re-enter the password again and again. In this case you should wait for some time to get the issue fixed.

Fix 4: Update to latest iOS 15 version

There are high chances that Apple mail issue is linked to iOS 15 update and the issue is reported to apple by multiple users. We expect Apple to release a permeant fix for the issue soon in upcoming release.
