How to fix Purple lines/fades/flickers on iPhone 12 Pro display ?

iPhone 12 display shows  purple line on side of display specially while scrolling the screen. This is annoying issue as the purple line is quite visible after the iOS 14.6 update and does not go away from there. iPhone 12 purple line on display is no a new issue but was also reported with iPhone X,XR, XS Max devices, but after the latest update the purple lines are more visible.

This looks like  Purple ghosting/flicker on the new iPhone 12 Pro and more visible while watching videos on low brightness. The issue is even seen in the new iPhone 12 as the purple lines that come out while scrolling.

How to fix Purple flickers on iPhone 12 Pro display : iPhone 12/11/XR/XS/iOS 14./14.7

Solution 1: Use Light Mode

The purple lines on iPhone 12 can be dimmed using light mode in the iPhone. Rather than using dark mode, instead you can use Light Mode.

• -Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner of the app.
• -Tap "Settings"
• -Scroll down to the header which reads "Display", and tap "Display Theme"
• -chose from "System Default", "Light", or "Dark."

Solution 2: Try different background combination

This purple line on iPhone effect is more visible if you have a pure dark background and the subject on the screen is a dark grey.  To minimize the effect you can try different background with different colors. 

Solution 3:  Report  issue to Apple and keep iPhone in latest iOS updates

As mentioned earlier the purple lines on iPhone display are OLED issue can be minimised by tweaking software updates by Apple. Many iPhone users are trying to get a replacement for the issue but facing same issue in the latest iPhone as well. Its better to report the issue to Apple and get a permanent fix on the next updates of iOS 14/15.
