How to fix Apple Wallet draining battery after iOS update : iPhone/iPad/Watch?


Many iPhone 12 users are facing issue with the latest iOS 14.5/14.6 and iOS 14.7 that the Apple wallet is draining iPhone battery very fast. Apple Wallet is taking too much battery resulting in sharp decline of battery performance. If you check in the battery usage, just for few minutes of usage Apple Wallet is taking around 30-40% of battery.

Fix 1 : Turn off background Data Refresh 


It seems that Wallet is continuously trying to access data network for completing some work and this taking too much battery. To fix that Go to setting General -> Background App Refresh and turned off Wallet.


Fix 2: Remove the Apple Card from Wallet


Other way to stop Apple wallet from taking too much battery is to remove the Apple card from the Wallet and this will stop too much battery drain by Walllet app. If you don’t know how to do it, you may also contact the Apple support.


Fix 3 : Express Transit Card


Try turning off the “Express Transit Card” setting. That setting enables NFC devices to trigger your phone on


Fix 4 : Update the iOS


Apple is aware of Wallet draining issue and hopefully resolve the issue in upcoming releases. So it is always recommended to update the Apple device to latest iOS version for permanent fix for such issues.
