iOS 14.5 Camera, Flashlight and FaceId not working :iPhone 12/XS Pro Max ?

Many iPhone users after updating their iPhone to latest iOS 14.5 are facing issue with Camera and flashlight not working. Not only Camera but FaceId is also not working for iPhone users. The issue started after updating the iPhone to iOS 14.5 and everything was working normally with iOS 14.4

Surely something is broken by the iOS 14.5 update which is causing camera issue in it. This is very annoying from Apple side to have such issues where Camera and FaceId not working in such expensive phone. Apple should address these issue at the earliest

Fix : Try a force Restart


First try a forced restart

Fix : Back up and Restore the iPhone 


Below are the steps  on How to Backup and restore the iPhone : 


(1)How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch – Apple Support

Remove SIM PIN if you have set one

(2) Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings – Apple Support

Set up as new from the Hello Screen without restoring backup. Test if the problem still exists

(3) Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

If that fails arrange a repair

Fix 2 : Revert to iOS 14.4


Reverting to older version of iOS is not an option now but if it is urgent to access camera then you should Jail break the iPhone first. Reverting to iOS 14.4 will make camera working normal. 


Fix 3 : Update to latest iOS version


If nothing helps you out, then you should check for upcoming releases. Camera bug in iOS 14.5 is major issue and hopefully Apple will fix the issue soon in upcoming release. So please keep on updating iOS versions to latest to get a permanent issue.
