NC Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson Vows To Clear Ties To Porn Site, But He Reportedly Rejected Offers To Investigate

North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is gearing up for a legal fight to clear his good name of allegations that he made lewd, self-loathing and bigoted remarks on adult website Nude Africa’s message board — or is he?

On Monday, Robinson, who is the Republican nominee for governor in N.C. and has refused to step down amid the scandal, told what’s left of his supporters at a rally in Wilkes County, N.C., that he plans to get to the bottom of how messages were tied to him in which “someone” bragged about being a “perv” who enjoys transgender porn, referred to themself as a “Black NAZI,” and stated they wanted to bring slavery back. He also implied that he would be taking legal action against CNN, which first reported on his ties to the website.

“I am in the process of retaining aggressive legal counsel to investigate who did this and how; we will leave no stone unturned, and will use every legal means to hold CNN accountable for perpetrating these lies. I am not backing down, the future of North Carolina depends on it,” Robinson posted on X, formerly Twitter.

On the same day Robinson declared that he would not take the attacks on his reputation lying down (not that anything he purportedly wrote on that message board was all that unbelievable considering things he has said and posted publicly), people directly familiar with the matter told WRAL that Robinson had already “rejected multiple offers from supporters to connect him with information technology specialists to help the Republican gubernatorial nominee investigate racist and lewd comments on a pornographic website made by someone with a username that CNN tied to Robinson,” WRAL reported.

So, which is it? Is Robinson planning to fight the allegations against him by hiring people to investigate the website and his ties to it, which he previously claimed were “manufactured,” or is he declining when offered information regarding who he can get to investigate the website? Because the latter would make it’s apparent that he knows any further digging into the matter will only expose that the email addresses, usernames and biographical details attributed to him are, in fact, his.

Another interesting tidbit is that Robinson only appears to have smoke for CNN and has said nothing about his alleged ties to the website Ashley Maddison — the website for married people who are looking to cheat on their spouses — which was first reported by Politico.

“We are not gonna let CNN throw us off of our mission. Our mission is to win this race,” Robinson said at the Rally Monday after declaring he is considering “everything up to legal counsel to take CNN to task for what they have done to us,” and that “we are going after them.” Seriously, if it’s all lies, CNN isn’t the only culprit.

Also, if it’s all lies, why doesn’t anyone around him seem to believe him? Despite his repeated denial of the allegations, at least eight members of his staff, including senior staff members, jumped ship amid the news, which happened after his staff and the Trump campaign reportedly encouraged him to step down.

It appears Robinson is finding out who his friends are.

Sad.
