Moses ‘Shyne’ Barrow Says Diddy ‘Is Someone Who Destroyed My Life’
In a recent press conference, Moses “Shyne” Barrow commented on his relationship with former colleague and mentor Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Combs was arrested Monday evening in a New York City hotel for racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs pleaded not guilty and was denied bail. The indictment for his arrest was released yesterday.
Diddy And Shyne Worked Together From 1997-1999
Barrow and Combs worked together in the music industry in the late ’90s. Their relationship hit a snag once Barrow was convicted on two counts of assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of an illegal weapon.
Just after Christmas in 1999, Barrow was with Combs and Jennifer Lopez in a packed New York City nightclub. Gunshots were fired inside the club. Barrow ended up spending nearly nine years in prison after being arrested for the shooting, though he’s always publicly maintained his innocence.
Following his release from prison, Barrow returned to his home country of Belize. In 2010, he began his political career. Today, he sits as the opposition leader in the House of Representatives and the leader of the Belize United Democratic Party.

Political Press Conference
Yesterday, during a press conference, Barrow was asked for his thoughts on the Combs arrest.
“One of the things that I would never wish on my worst enemy is to be incarcerated or to be sick, to be bedridden,” Barrow stated. “So I take no joy in anyone’s challenges whether with the criminal justice system or otherwise. But I’d just like to clarify. You have to be truthful in the description of the relationship. This is someone who in essence testified against me when I was on trial, when I was an 18-year-old kid just wanting to do nothing other than make my mother proud and make Belize proud and do what all of us want to do, be recognized for our talent and take over the world.”
He continued, “This is someone who destroyed my life. And who I forgave and moved on for the better interest of Belize.”
When the reporter pressed Barrow on his knowledge of any of Combs’ alleged “freak offs” Barrow said, “I had nothing to do with Sean Combs’ personal life,” he stated. “No interaction at that level. Everything was strictly on a professional level.”
