‘They Should be Concerned’: Stranger Things Creators Hint Steve Harrington’s Potential Grim Fate in Vol. 2
Part 1 of Stranger Things Season 4 came out on 27 May, 2022. The long-awaited return of the franchise set the fan community ablaze. And part 1, which consists of 7 episodes, has set the stage for Part 2. Fans can’t wait for the epic conclusion of the series. Part 2 of Stranger Things will come out on July 1 and will have two episodes. With just two weeks to go, fans are speculating how Season 4, which has so far been the most terrifying and action-packed season yet, end. And one of the most important questions is which character might not make it. And one of the characters who are at the forefront of this list is Steve Harrington.

The intensity of Season 4 has cast doubts in the fans’ minds, wondering which characters will make it out alive. And one of the characters whose survival seems to be in the doldrums right now is Steve Harrington (played by Joe Keery). Steve had one of the best character development arcs in the show. His soft side (not to forget his stunning looks) and relationship with Dustin (played by Gaten Matarazzo) have made Steve a heartthrob character. Despite being in precarious situations in previous seasons, Steve has managed to survive the Upside Down. But the situation could very well change this season.
Stranger Things: The Danger is Real This Time
Steve is currently stuck in the Upside Down. And his odds aren’t looking very favorable, considering that his ex, Nancy (played by Natalie Dyer) is in grave danger on his side of the gate. Facing Vecna, the strongest villain in the series is proving to be a daunting task for the band. And amidst all this, the show’s creators, the Duffer brothers, have shared some interesting facts about what the future holds for Steve.

What the Stranger Things Creators Have to Say
Opening up about Steve’s delicate condition in a conversation with TVLine, the Stranger Things creators said:
Matt Duffer: Everybody’s always worried about Steve. I love it. We always have to beat Steve up somehow, so certainly the Demobats have done that job pretty well already this season.
Ross Duffer: It feels wrong to say ‘excited,’ but I’m excited that people are concerned. And they should be concerned going into the final two episodes [of Season 4] — for everybody.
These words from the Duffer brothers tease that the fans could be in for a shock and that someone might not return this season. Well, this isn’t the first time the creators have dropped a hint about a major character’s death. But the focus on Steve is what saddens his fans. But this could be a move to just surprise the character’s wide fan base. The Duffer Brothers must be finding all this speculation interesting.
Steve Harrington’s Death will break hearts
Needless to say, his death would leave a lot of people disappointed, including Producer Shawn Levy, who has shared before that he would walk away from the show if Steve ever died, which previously made his death seem impossible. But the reality doesn’t seem so distant now.

Fans are hopeful that Shawn’s words will avert Steve’s impending doom. But the only way we can know for sure is to wait till 1st July, when season 4 part 2 comes out.
