Stranger Things: Season 4 Will Provide Answers to Eleven’s Past

Stranger Things season 4 star Millie Bobby Brown has revealed that the fourth season 4 will give fans answers to Eleven’s dark and mysterious past. Brown, best known for her role in the sci-fi drama on Netflix, began her acting career way back in 2013, giving fans a guest appearance in Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.

After she made an appearance in shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, and Modern Family, she landed herself the role of Eleven in Stranger Things, a young girl who has powerful telekinetic and psychic abilities.

In the first season of the series, Brown’s character was seen escaping the national laboratory-based in Hawkins, where she was raised as nothing but an experiment. The moniker ‘Eleven’ was given to her as she was the eleventh test subject in the various experiments that took place in the laboratory. In the second season, Eleven found her true identity; being the daughter of Terry Ives, who was also subjected to many brutal experiments by Dr. Brenner. Eleven also found about her “sister,” another powerful girl called Kali (or Eight), who could make people experience hallucinations.

With barely weeks left until the fourth season debuts on Netflix, Brown made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. During this interview, Brown was asked what this upcoming season has in store for Eleven, and she suggested that they “really dig deep into her beginning.” Here’s her full answer below:

The main part and the slogan of this storyline is, ‘It’s the beginning of the end.’ And we really have to dig deep into her beginning, and how she became who she is with the people around her, and how to gain that autonomy and become this woman on her own. So this storyline, this season really digs into that.

Stranger Things fans have already been hinted that the series will be digging deeper into the mysterious history of Eleven. The teaser that was released last year suggested El’s time spent under Dr. Brenner’s control and also, the existence of more “siblings.” While earlier seasons have suggested at the various types of experiments that she was once subjected to, their exact reasons are still clouded in some sort of mystery. Season 4 will reveal exactly what the evil Dr. Brenner and his team of scientists hoped to achieve through Eleven.

Fans might not be the only ones to delve deeper into the past of Eleven, as Brown’s character herself might confront her history to regain her lost powers, as seen in season 3.

The first part of Stranger Things season 4 will premiere on Netflix on May 27 while part 2 will release on July 1.
