Many players are facing issue with Pokemon go incense not working. The issue is like if you try to pop an incense for aloha and it's not calling any pokemon. Pokemon not spawning or taking too long.
‘Incense’ which is an item that allows players to temporarily attract more Pokemon near them. But recently many players are reporting that incense hasn’t been working properly as it takes a long time to take effect or doesn’t attract as many Pokemon as before.

People are facing trouble with pokemon spawning from incense while not moving and it’s not working. One user reported that 2 pokemon spawned at the beginning, since then even after 15 minutes nothing spawned. Refreshing and rebooting the device does not seems to fix the issue and the incense is not working and not spawing pokemon (2022).

Actually you are not the only one having issues with your incense on Pokemon. As per the reports from various sources, incense just reverted back to its normal effect, so unless you're walking, you should expect about 1 spawn every 5 minutes.
Please note that Incense effect was boosted a few years ago. This caused Pokemon to spawn eleven per minute and player were used to it.
Pokemon nerfed incense with the start of the season. It's back to pre-covid where it will only spawn a Pokemon once every 5 minutes while stationary.
If incense is not working for you in 2022 please note that is not a glitch, but an expected behaviour since the most recent Pokemon Go season started.
