What is “user has Notifications silenced” iMessage in iPhone 13/ iOS 15 ?

The iOS 15 is new iPhone operating system by Apple which is launched by Apple with many new features. But many users are seeing a new message in the message app. When you try to send a message to a friend, you will be seeing  a message that user has notifications silenced Notification.

Why I am seeing contact has Notification Silenced

Many iPhone 13 Pro/ 12,8. Plus users are facing new message notification while doing message/ iMessage in their iPhone that  user has notifications silenced. The message is not part of message sent or received but a line is added by system stating the contact has silenced the notification. But iPhone users are wondering what does it mean when someone has their notifications silenced in iOS 15.

The notifications silenced iPhone messages is shown to your contacts if you have turned ON the Focus settings in iPhone. So if you are seeing Notification silenced message in your iPhone then this is due to other user have turned on Focus settings and have turned off notification. It just tells people your whole iphone is on Do not disturb, and might read the messages. It is usually sent to anyone with an iPhone when you have it set to ON.

How to turn off User has notifications silenced iOS 15: iPhone 13/12 Pro max, iPad, iPhone XS,8,7 Plus

If you do not want your contact to see "Notification Silenced" Message then Go to Focus Status in settings and toggle Share Focus Status to off. Should fix the alerts sent to your contacts when you text them while your phone is silenced. Fixed the issue for me at least.

Go to  Privacy > Focus> and turn the Messages on, off, on, and off.

Go To Settings-> Focus -> DND-> Check Allowed Notification settings.

How to fix Unable to disable Focus settings :

In case you are not able to turn off or disable the Focus settings then please try below possible fix for the issue:

If you want to turn off “has notifications silenced “ message in the iOS 15 on iPhone then please check that Focus is turned off. Please note that it should be  turned off in all the devices which share the same Apple ID. Even if one of your devices has the focus sharing ON then all your devices with the same Apple ID will be silenced with the same DND. You have to check every device that you have with your Apple ID on and make sure every focus is off. Which includes your iPhone, iMac, iPad, MacBook, and Apple watch.

Also if you have turned off Focus setting but still Notification Silenced message is shown then this could be due to glitch in the Focus settings. Please Toggle the Focus setting by First turning it ON and OFF again. (

Go to  Privacy > Focus> and turn the Messages on, off, on, and off. )

Focus setting are complex for many iPhone user and if you are not sure how to use it we recommend you to don’t set up the focus option and if you have to for the alarm purpose, do not hit share across all devices or don’t share with messaging app.
