How to fix iPad/ iPhone 12 Storage says Zero KB used ?

 

Many iPhone 13/12 , iPhone 7,XS users are facing issue with the iOS 15 system storage that while checking for system storage, it shows Zero KB of 128GB used. Which is clearly wrong as the iPhone has many apps installed and the same is shown in apps details in the details below.

This is annoying issue and the iPhone users are not able to see correct Storage used. While check in Settings / General / iPhone or iPad storage says “Zero KB of 128 GB used”, while the bar graph shows about half of onboard storage is in use.

Fix : Force Reboot iPhone


A force reboot may help to fix the software glitches in the iPhone which may occur during iOS update. Please follow this link for the steps. 


Fix : Change region and language settings


If force reboot did not help you to fix the issue then you can try below workaround to fix the Zero kb issue : 

1.Change the iphone language in Setting>general>Language&Region>iphone language. 

2. Changed from English (UK)to English (USA). Then switched back to English(UK) again. 

3. Go and check available storage again. This should be fixed now. 



Fix : update the iOS

Most of the time wrong storage info (like Zero KB) is linked to bugs in the storage system which are caused by new changes in the iOS. Many users after updating to iOS 15 faced the issue and new version of iOS 15.2 seem to fix the issue. 


Fix : Restore the iPhone


To fix the Zero kb storage issue, try to Sync everything with iCloud in settings, including iCloud Photo Library, then erase the whole device and set it up as a new phone. After the phone is reset to renew, sync the data from iCloud to iPhone again and problem should be fixed. 


Fix: Delete Social media apps


Social media apps like Facebook creates lots of junk files in the system which may cause issue with correct data not shown in the iPhone. Delete Facebook then reinstall it. It will clear out some of the junk storage it retains. It will surely free some data and with almost all social media apps like Twitter and Instagram too.
