Apple music cane be integrated to Alexa device and lots of users are finding this useful. Apple music is growing fast and most of the iPhone users are finding Apple music a great way to listen to the music. Apple music can be played with Alexa Echo. But recently many user are having issue with it, the Apple music is not working with Amazon Echo. It seems that Alexa is intermittently losing connection to Apple. Commands like “Alexa play my radio station on Apple Music" are no more working now.

Initially the Apple music was synced perfectly and was working good, but after some time it stopped working. When you try to play Apple music on Alexa Echo 2nd Gen, it says it is only available on amazon prime music. Alexa is not able to play any playlist of Apple music. The issue started randomly and lots of users are not able to listen Apple music on Alext Echo. Sometime Alexa is asking for updates while paying Apple music, but in update section it says it is on latest version and no updates are pending. Fix : Sync Apple music again
Due to changes in Settings like using different Apple ID, may be the reason why Alexa stopped working with Apple music. To fix that you should remove Apple Music and connected it again to the Alexa echos and it should work as expected after that.
Fix : Disable to skill
To fix Apple music not working with Amazon Alexa device, Disable the skill. Force close the app or reboot your iPhone. Then go back in and re-enable the skill and login to your Apple Music account.
- Go to Alexa App on iPhone and tap the three-bar icon (the three lines look like horizontal lines) in the upper left-hand corner.
- Tap Settings and select Music & Podcasts.
- Tap Apple Music from the drop-down and then tap Disable Skills.
Fix : Reset the Alexa Echo
One of the solution to fix Alexa not working with Apple music it to disable the Apple Music skill, factory reset the echo and run through the setup to sync Apple again, then enable Apple Music again. Now the Alexa Echo should be able to sync with Apple music and play songs.
The detailed steps are Unlink Apple Music from Alexa, log out of the Alexa app, reboot your router then your echo, then re link Apple Music in the Alexa web interface at Alexa.Amazon.com etc.
Fix : Set Apple music as default service
To play Apple music over Alexa make sure to set it as default service under ‘Settings/Music & podcasts/Default Services’. Please note if you relinked your account, you may need to reset your default.
Fix : Report issue to Alexa
As most of the users are facing this issue are reporting that Apple music is showing connected to Alexa. Therefore we suggest you to contact Alexa support and chat about the problems you are facing and they should be able to help you out.
