Video Freezing on Safari but sound continues : iPhone 7/12/iOS 15

Many iPhone 7,XS,13 users after updating to latest iOS 15/15.0.2  are reporting issue that while playing a video on Safari the video will not play. The video on Safari is freezing but the sounds plays fine continuously. If any of application wants to open the video in external link using Web browsers like Safari/Chrome/Brave/Firefox, the video will not load on the iPhone/iOS 15 and the video screen will freeze like stuck, however the sound of the video plays normally and you can hear it continuously like video is playing normally.

The issue happens more prominently if you scroll forward a video too many time, the video cuts out and freezes. The issue is also with the websites like Youtube, Netflix etc. The YouTube video opened as external link from Instagram, Whatsapp , are opened in the web browser but the video will not play and will be frozen.  Almost everytime the issue happens and the iPhone screen remains black and frozen while playing video on Safari/Chrome.

Fix  : Workaround 

If Safari is stuck or frozen while playing a video , try stuck tapping the 3-dot button and changing the playback speed. This is a workaround but seems to works as a temporary fix.

Fix : Remove any Extension Installed on Safari Browsers

Go to Safari Preferences/Extensions and turn all extensions off. Test. If okay, turn the extensions on one by one until you figure out what extension is causing the problem. To do this , On your iPhone-> go to Settings-> Safari->Extensions. 

Fix : Clear Browser Cookies

To fix video not playing on iPhone/Safari try clearing the cookies on the Safari browser.  Please follow below official guide from Apple on this.

Fix : Try to refresh the Webpage

One easy solution to fix the Safari freezing video on iOS 15 is to simply refresh the webpage, which will reload the page again and hopefully the video will load normally. Another solution is just to pause-play the video.

Fix : Try resetting iPhone

If none of above fix helps to fix the issue , then you should try to reset the iPhone settings. As during the update process there might be some software glitches which can be fixed by resetting the iPhone. Go To Setting-> Genera->Reset Or Transfer-> Reset.
