How to fix iPhone 13 Pro Max Tap to Wake not working intermittently ?

iPhone 13 series are the latest iPhone released by Apple and the iPhone has many hardware updates including the bionic chip and Camera of the iPhone. But man iPhone 13 users who received the phone are facing issue with Tap to Wake feature of iPhone 13/ Mini. Tapping the screen on my iPhone 13 Pro doesn’t wake the phone. The Tap to wake feature is not working intermittently on the iPhone 13.

This is annoying issue as on the iPhone 13 you will have to press the side button to turn on the screen. The FaceID will not work also on the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Even in the brand new iPhone 13 tap to wake refuses to work sometimes. This is an easy to reproduce the issue on my 13 Pro Max and it does not matter is a long press or a short press.

While in some cases on iPhone 13 , when you will pick up the iPhone 13, the display comes to life, it unlocks but the touchscreen is completely unresponsive unless you hit the power button to make it sleep again and then wake it.

For many users the Tap to wake issue is fixed by a normal reboot to the iPhone 13. But this does not fix the issue permanently and the issue may reappear again after sometime. You can also try to hard restart the iPhone to fix any software glitch in the iPhone

Fix 3: Reset the iPhone

To fix the Tap to wake feature not working intermittnelt in the iPhone you can try to reset all setting of the iPhone. Go to Setting->General->Reset Or transfer iPhone->Reset. This will only reset iPhone settings to default and you data will not be wiped out.

Fix 4: Update the iPhone to latest iOS 15 version

There are reports that Tap to Raise issue is due to iOS 15 bug and many iPhone 13 users are affected due to this. The issue is reported to apple and hopefully a permanent fix for the issue will roll out in iOS 15.1 as some beta users confirms that after updating to iOS 15.1 beta there is no Tap to raise issue seen on the iPhone.
