Apple music not playing songs says “An unknown error occurred (-42812)” [Fix]
Apple music is a nice music app from the Apple and it has many great features like it has ability to download your favourite tracks and play them offline, lyrics in real time, listening across all your favourite devices using Apple Id, sharable Playlist etc. There are millions of regular users of Apple music and app keeps on impressing its user by its UI experience and good performance. The issue is reported after updating the iOS 14 version to the latest version iOS 14.7.1 and iOS 15.
But recently many Apple music are facing issue while playing songs in Apple music. Apple has rolled out the Lossless Audio and Dolby Atmos options for all According to some reports the problem is with the new Apple Music Features, dolby atmos, looseless and Hi-res looseless, because with this formats on the settings, Apple music new feature is giving the problem with already. How to fix Apple music Error “An unknown error occurred (-42812)”: iPhone 12 Pro Max/11/XR/XS Max/iPad
Fix : Turn off dolby, atmos and lossless audio
As stated above the issue apple music shows the -42812 error is due to new feature in the Apple music and to fix the error settings And turned off dolby, atmos and lossless audio. Now check again, the apple music should work fine now.
Go to settings - Music - scroll to download options - turn off “download in dolby atmos”
Fix 2: Delete and ReDownload music
Error 42812 in Apple music could be issue with streaming a particular songs. The issue can be fixed by just deleting all your downloaded music and redownloaded them again. One you have done that there should be no issue in playing songs. Please follow steps for details:
On iPhone, delete all your downloaded music. Do NOT delete it from library.
The easiest way is, adding all your music into one playlist.
Then hold the playlist until menu appears and select delete downloaded music. Then simply redownload playlist.
That should fix Apple music error -42812.
Fix 3: Use MAC / PC/iTunes
If you are not able to do perform steps in above fix then we recommend you to use MAC or PC. On Mac/iTunes (Windows PC), open your library cmd-a/ctrl a (Windows) to select all. Then right click and in menu select delete downloaded. After that cmd-a/ctrl a (Windows) to select all. Then right click and in menu select download.
