How to turn off the editors picks on iPhone Apple Maps/News app

Apple maps are doing lots of improvement for better users experiences and lots of iPhone/iPad users are now shifting to use Apple maps. But generally most of the iPhone / iPad users wants to use the Apple maps for navigation only. But Apple maps keeps on showing Editor picks which is really annoying to see app the time in Apple maps. Editor picks is a feature that shows recommendations of things to do or places to explore when you search or save a location.

How to turn off Editors picks in Apple Maps: iPhone

 There is a huge section of Editor's Picks in Apple Maps and no visible way to turn off editor picks. This not acceptable to many iPhone users are Apple maps keeps on showing Editors picks for your location which is disturbing and annoying.

Same is the case with the Apple news which keeps on showing Editors Picks news. The iPhone users have turned off the Notification for the app like News or Apple App but still keeps on seeing Editor picks suggestion on the iPhone. This is not a good feature from Apple as users might not want to see news based on some other News Editors and look for a way to switch off Editors choice in News app.

Fix 1: Turn off Frequent Location

One of the quick way to turn off Editors picks in the iPhone is to Turn off Frequent Locations. To do that Go to iPhone Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services > Frequent Locations. Turn this off and it will stop showing the Editors pics in the Apple maps. You should also clear search history in Apple maps. 

Fix 2 : Toggle Maps option

To turn off Apple maps Editors picks , please try below workaround settings

• Go to Settings.
• Tap on Maps 
• Tap on Siri & Search
• see if toggling any of those suggestion settings affects it.

Fix 3: Turn off Editor picks for News

To turn off Editors picks in the Apple news Open the news app, go to favourites and click the X on news editors picks. This should turn off the Editors picks in iPhone.

Other way of doing this is to 

• open news
• in the menu choose file
•  manage notifications.
• There you can turn off Apple News Editors picks notifications.
