Fix Google maps Starred/Saved/Shared places list not showing !

Many users are reporting issue with the Google Maps that the starred and saved places, favourites list is missing from the app and no longer automatically display on my map.

The issue started after the new version update all place saved disappear. Also for some iPhone users saved lists are there but pins no longer show on the map worldwide. Pins are not showing on the Google maps anymore after the latest update to the app. The issue is seen across different platform including iOS 14 and iPhone 12. 

Similarly there is another issue with desktop maps and shared lists. The lists created one the phone are not showing up on the desktop version of Google maps. However they work just fine on the Android/ iPhone, but do not show up on desktop Google maps. 

 The saved locations showed for about 30 seconds and then disappeared after closing the app

How to fix Google maps Favourite/ Pins/ Saved/shared lists not showing in phone/ Desktop: iPhone 12/XS/XR / Android 

Fix 1: Reinstall the app

If saved lists are not appearing on the mobile app , then you should try to delete and reinstall the app. Many users fixed it by uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.

Fix 2: start the app in default view

This is more like a workaround to Show Pin in the maps. Just start the app in default view (no satellite or terrain view and nothing else like traffic) then the pins show up. To switch to default map type (upper right corner), then close the app completely, then re-open it in default view, and then you can switch to satellite and it works fine until you open it again

Fix 3: check if google Account is not switched 

Please make sure that your Google account is not switched. If your Google account was accidentally switched then you may also face the issue. In Maps Go to top right corner and select your main account. They should all be restored.

Fix 4:  Check View lists settings 

Go to Saved > more > starred places > view list. This will show up the saved lists

Fix 5: Delete Application Data

Go to Settings -> About, terms & privacy and there  reset Google Usage ID and Deleted Application data. This should restore the list and pins.
