AOL mail not working on iPhone

Re-entering the password or Removing the AOL account and reading it does not fix the problem. The AOL account is working fine on the computer but not on the iPhone/iPad only and keeps on saying that Cannot get email, no password provided for AOL. This is very annoying issue as iPhone is not able to open or access AOL email at all.

How to fix AOL account not working on iPhone 12/XR/8 / iOS 14

Fix 1: App specific password

AOL now requires App-Specific passwords to be entered instead of your normal password. In order to do that

If you've activated 2-step verification for your AOL account, you'll need to generate and use an "app password" to access AOL Mail from these apps.

1. Sign in and go to the AOL Account security page. You can do this by signing on to AOL from a computer.

2. Click Generate app password or Manage app passwords.

3. Select your app from the drop down menu and click Generate.

4. Follow the instructions below the password.

- Be sure to enter the password into your app without any spaces.

5. Click Done.

6. Use this app password and your email address to sign in to your email app.

Fix 2: Delete and Re-add the AOL Account

One simple solution is to just deleted my AOL account: Settings > Mail > Accounts > AOL > Delete Account. Then re-added it: Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account, and now check the AOL account on iPhone. Hopefully this will get fixed!

Fix 3: Update iPhone to latest iOS

If you are still not able to access the AOL mails on iPhone then you may try to update the iPhone to latest iOS version to fix any software glitch.
