iPhone 12: Unable to turn off “Hide Alerts” / keeps coming back?


Many iPhone 12 pro max, XS , 11 Pro Max users are finding issue in the iPhone setting that the Hide alert feature is not working in the iPhone. No matter how many times hide alert is disabled, but still the iPhone turns on Hide Alert for a message thread. Zoom

The issue started once user has put message thread in Hide alert mode but later on disabled hide alert. But disabling the hide alert does not work in iOS 14.4.

The issue seems to be widespread across all iPhone model including iPhone 6s, 8/7, 11, 12 Pro running on the latest iOS 14. The iPhone users are unable to turn off Hide Alert on Message thread. The issue seems to be with group messages also. This is very annoying issue as user me miss important messages.

How to Fix iPhone Hide Alert keeps automatically turning On : 




Fix 1: Delete the message thread


One easy way to fix the issue is to delete the message that we are hide alert is not working properly. By starting a new message that the issue should be fixed.


Fix 2: Delete and Re-add the contact 


Other way to fix the issue is to delete the contact from your contact book and re-add it. Now start the conversation again and hopefully alert should work fine.


Fix 3: Reset the iPhone


After installing the latest iOS 14 version there might be some software glitches that is causing the issue. In order to fix that you can reset your iPhone from the settings.


Fix 4: Sign out from iCloud


You should also try to logout from iCloud account on all iPhone device. This will ensure that you are not using same Apple ID on different devices. Once logged out try to login again to the iPhone that is facing the issue and check for message alert now.


Fix 5: Disconnect Bluetooth devices


If your iPhone is connected to some Bluetooth devices that may create alert related issue. Try disconnecting all Bluetooth connection and check if alert works  fine.
