iPhone 12 Pro Lock and keyboard distorted sound issue [Fixed]
After purchasing latest iPhone 12 many of its users are facing iphone 12 lock sound issue. The iphone 12 lock sound different at different times. The issue is faced in the latest iOS 14.2 and iOS 14.3 as well. The lock sound of iPhone will change depending upon different activities you were doing in your iPhone. If the iPhone was lying down idol and if now locked it will give smooth sound, while if while playing a video you lock the iPhone it will give a loud locking sound.
Here is the issue looks like:
LOCK SOUND: Does your phone lock sound get louder if you unlock and lock it fast? Try it. Then do the same but lock your device after about 5s. Is your lock sound quieter?
KEYBOARD: Open Notes apps. Type something few rows. Wait about 10s and type again few rows. Does the keyboard's volume get gradually louder?

There is a major lock sound distortion in iPhone 12. The distorted sound is not only limited to lock in the iPhone but weird sound behaviour is also seen with keyboard typing. Keyboard sounds get louder while typing and the overall sound quality sounds very strange.
iPhone 12 sound issues in keyboard and locking is not smooth and gives variable high and low sounds, volume seems erratic in iPhone 12 Pro.
This is very annoying issue in a costly iPhone as the lock sound sounds differently every time the iphone 12 pro is locked. Sometimes loud, sometimes muffled. sometimes clipped.
For example the iPhone 12 Locking right after playing media is fine, But now when the iPhone is locked after some idle time/ a few seconds later the sound always becomes weird. When some app is open and when try to lock the iPhone it will give sounds differently each time it also happen to voice memo, camera video sound, and Whatsapp video.
Same is the case with Keyboard sound in iPhone 12 Pro. keyboard clicks are very low in volume and keeps changing at different times.

Workaround 1 : MegaSafe Case issue
For most of the iPhone users who are facing this issue or finding that the weire lock sound in iPhone is due to using Megasafe case and charger. This started happening to many iPhone 12 Pro user after started using the MagSafe charger/case.
If you are using a Megasafe case and facing lock sound issue in iPhone 12 , then please try with restarting the iPhone. This will generally works and lock sound should work normally.
Workaround 2: Sound and haptic settings
Open iPhone settings - sound and haptick - disable block sound. Then force shutdown (Vol up - vol down and right button. When the phone is on re-able block sound.
Workaround 3: Remove Cover
Strangely many iPhone users are able to fix lock screen sound issue in iPhone after removing iPhone cover. If you are also using an iPhone cover then we recommend you to remove and test the sound lock without the cover.
Workaround 4: Factory reset to default
One other ways to fix lock screen weird sound related issues in iPhone is to factory reset your iPhone from settings. Please note that doing this will erase all the data from your iPhone. Therefore we strongly recommend you to take back up of your iPhone data before doing factory reset.
Workaround 5 : Update iOS
Lock sound in keyboard sound issue in iPhone seems to be a software bug. This could be triggered by negative case and covers but can’t be sure about. It is always recommended to report such bugs to Apple support.
Many iPhone users have already put it is to apple and there is no permanent fix for the issue yet released in latest iOS 14.3. Hopefully Apple Inc. will fix such issues in upcoming releases of iOS. So please keep on checking the latest iOS 14 release notes for a permanent fix.
